Developing a feasible model for delivering quality hospital-based experiential learning for pharmacy undergraduate students funded by the healthcare education and training tariff

The Department of Health and Social Care (UK) provides funding to support clinical placements for healthcare students in England through their education training tariff, which is administered by Education (HEE). From September 2022, undergraduate pharmacy became eligible this experiential learning. Development quality, feasible learning within the context tariff proved challenging both higher institutions (HEIs) hospital placement providers. Barriers delivery were identified addressed, such as no HEE published strategy delivery, well financial constraints payments made unattractive Pharmacy school inexperience arranging longer a substantial administrative burden added challenge.
